Our small group tutoring brings that instruction to groups of 2–8 students at once, providing premium personalized instruction at a cost per family that a fully private engagement often can't match.

How It Works

What a Small Group Looks Like

Groups of 2 to 8 students. Small enough that every student gets real attention, large enough to bring the cost per family down.
Level-matched grouping. Groups are formed around subject and level, so instruction moves at a pace that works for everyone in the room.
Bring your own group, or we'll help form one. Existing co-ops can enroll as a group. Individual families can also enroll and be matched with other students at a similar level and subject.
Same structured foundation. Each student still receives an individual intake assessment so instruction can be tailored within the group setting, not just delivered generically to the room.
In-person or remote. Available both in person, for local co-ops, and via video conference for groups spread across a wider area.

AP Physics

Calculus-based and algebra-based sections, taught with the same emphasis on true conceptual understanding used across every Apex engagement.

AP Chemistry

Conceptual and problem-solving instruction for students preparing for the AP exam and for college-level coursework beyond it.

Advanced Mathematics

Algebra II through calculus, for homeschool co-ops that want a consistent, rigorous math track for a small cohort of students.

Small Group Tutoring: Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring my own group of up to 8 students?

Yes. Existing homeschool co-ops or friend groups are welcome to enroll together, provided the students are at a compatible level in the subject.

What if my student needs more individual attention than the group allows?

Let us know during the intake process. Some families combine a small group session for core instruction with occasional individual sessions for a specific gap or exam push. We'll talk through what makes sense for your student.

What age or grade range do groups typically span?

Groups are matched by subject and level rather than strictly by age, since that's what actually determines whether instruction moves at the right pace for everyone. We'll discuss your student's current level when you inquire.

Is small group tutoring available remotely?

Yes, for co-ops or groups of students who aren't all in the same location. Remote small-group sessions follow the same structure as in-person groups.
